CAFFS 200/400

Fiscal Year 2008

Apply the Ultra High Pressure (UHP)
Technology to the CAFFS System.

Incorporate a power plant, a water tank,
and a foam concentrate tank and produce six prototypes.

Equip the CAFFS Unit with a low profile pressurized water tank, hose, and nozzle.

The CAFFS Unit system can be enhanced with adaptation of Ultra High Pressure tecnology.  This upgrade applies ultra high pressure (1200 - 1500 psi) water and foam.  UHP technology has been proven to reduce the quantity of fire fighting agent required to extinguish large class B fuel spill fires which allows for equivalent or superior fire suppression capability in a smaller package.  The increased performance of UHP trechnolgy allows for smaller hose lines to be used that can be deployed by one person.  The ultra high pressure application is extremely efficient and effective for the military operating in a war zone, when time is of the essence and extinguishment must be rapid.  The light weight, rapid extinguishment UHP CAFFS is also extremely effective for structural, forest, airplane, helicopter, etc. fires to extinguish them in their incipient stage.
