There is a growing need by our agricultural community for rapid, accurate
testing of these selected agents and toxins. Presently:
Lab tests (tested in a USDA lab in Washington DC) can take up to 10
days. During this time, toxins have ample time to spread.
The entire agricultural community throughout the United States must
be shut down to prevent the disease from spreading.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, biological agents
classified as Weapons of Mass Destruction are able to be carried into our
country via plants and vegetation.
Plants shpped across our border carrying agents of mass destruction could
greatly affect our economy, health, and welfare.
